The extravagant hotel, which is being constructed by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Finance, is set to cost a staggering US$3.5 billion to build.
When it is all said and done, Abraj Kudai will include 10,000 rooms, 12 towers, over 70 restaurants, and several helipads.
Plus, the Saudi royal family will have five floors to call their own when they want a vacation.
o give you an idea of its size, currently the First World Hotel in Malaysia holds the most rooms with 7,351 and is followed by MGM Grand in Las Vegas (6,198) and the Luxor Hotel (4,400), Mandalay Bay Resort (4,332) and The Venetian (4,049) in Vegas.
There will also be a convention centre built inside the hotel compound. The hotel’s podium will accommodate a bus station, shopping mall, restaurants, food courts, conference centre and car parks. A dome located on top of two mid towers will house a ballroom and the convention centre.
The entire complex will be roughly two kilometres away from the holy Islamic pilgrimage site in Mecca.
Not only will the Abraj Kudai boast of the most number of hotel rooms, but also house one of the world’s largest domes atop its tallest tower.
Abraj Kudai is expected to open next year, but don't panic about being first to make your reservations. After all, there are plenty of rooms to choose from.
