A hammock for your head sounds like the perfect nap time accessory, especially while traveling.
The NodPod, created by Paula Blankenship of Heirloom Traditions Paint in Kentucky, is a memory foam head pillow that is attached to the headrest of a plane, train or automobile with Velcro, and sits under the chin to support the neck.
Their site explains the problem we’ve all faced:
The reason it’s hard to rest or sleep while traveling is because you can’t keep your head, neck and back perpendicular and at a 90-degree angle similar to how you sleep in bed at night. This patented solution provides the solution to amazing sleep while traveling by recreating how you sleep on a bed, but in an upright position.
NodPod is currently looking for Kickstarter support to get off the ground. Over 2,000 people have already helped propel their goal of $20,000 to almost $80,000 with 21 days left in the fundraising.
As far as travel hacks go, one that may lead to better sleep is pretty appealing. Otherwise, tricks like choosing a seat with minimal distractions and dining before the flight takes off to avoid interruptions might help you get some ZZZs, too.
